In the States for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

When Mahalia Jackson returned to Louisiana together with Duke Ellington in 1970 to attend the first New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the atmosphere at the event was so joyously chaotic that the Queen of Gospel forgot she was there simply as a spectator and she spontaneously began to sing together with the Eureka Brass Band that was playing in the midst of the crowd. According to the organisers the spirit of the festival was thus born.
