The shouts of the oarsmen mingle with the strokes of the clock tower and the rumble of the jet skis. Some kayaks stand out among the traditional festively decorated and adorned gondolas. It is the procession for the Festa della Sensa. On a clear warm Spring morning the calm waters that caress Piazza San Marco is chock-full with boats.
